Mid-December and it was 68 degrees. Actually pretty nice but it didn't feel like Christmas. Not great for hunting but comfortable to be outside.
We had a holiday gift exchange with Dave, Dawn and the boys.
They'll be heading south for the season.
Dave and I managed to spend some time in stand too.
There is still a lot of food in the fields. The turnips haven't been touched yet.
Graham is going to participate in a spelling bee and he noticed the unique spelling on the back of our sign at the gate. Update/revision - Joan tells me that it was Grant who had the eye to catch the spelling...
Dave noticed this tree. It was dead/rotten but somebody had been chewing on it. Almost looked like beaver. Maybe a groundhog?
Sunday morning sunrise as I was leaving the barn in 60 degree weather.
From the driveway on my way to stand.
From the driveway stand.
And finally, it emerges.
Neither Dave nor I saw a deer on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
The cameras had some activity.
It was mostly does.
There were a couple bucks.
Dave and I also did a little target shooting.
There's still hope for this season but time is running out.
