Yucky Weather

There is no predicting what order blogger is going to use when loading photos.  One week they go in the order that I select them, the next week it is reversed.  This is a reverse week.

So here's fresh buck bomb for poop of the week.

I've been doing the camera tour on foot to get my exercise.

The bucks are still fighting.

Sunday morning was snow/rain/fog.  There was about 2" of snow overnight, turning to rain during the day, and supposed to go back to snow tonight.

The deer were out overnight digging up clover in the fields.

I did my Sunday walk down in the woods.  The creeks were running strong.

The fog was even worse that it appears in this photo.

I thought that Saturday evening might be good hunting (ahead of the weather system).  I encountered these prints on the stand steps.  Raccoon? 

I saw nothing and froze my butt off.

There were many candidates for poop of the week.

It's always fun to see the traffic patterns in snow.

Sunday was definitely a lot worse than Saturday.  Freezing rain and fog are the worst.

Winter Chores

 I fixed the 3 point hitch last week and proceeded to do a bunch of brush-hogging this week.  At some point I noticed this cylinder clevis pin packing out of the loader.  It's always something.

I did a few odd chores - sprayed the fruit trees with dormant oil.  Got a new shopvac set up.  And I went for a walk.  The pond was frozen.

It has a bunch of stuff frozen in the surface - I think it was just grass seed.

I did the camera tour on foot on Saturday and walked deer trails on Sunday.  Looking for early shed antlers (and getting some exercise).

Saturday night was elk steak night.  Trying out my new Bearded Butcher spices.  I have six varieties to work thru.

I will have lots of work on the atv trails but I worked mostly up in the fields.

I'm not sure what this burrow is - it is pretty big.  Maybe fox or skunk?  I've seen both on camera in this vicinity.

Bobcat.  Got this video recently from a friend - I'm sure there's some of this going on.  Bobcat and Turkey

So far, I'm still seeing both of them.

Seeing a few more fox lately.  Seems like coyotes increased and fox decreased.
