American Serengeti

I read this book on a long plane ride recently.  I found it very interesting and would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in wildlife in America before the arrival of Europeans.  American Serengeti by Dan Flores

I also read this book which is more about the historical and current day politics surrounding the big public lands in America.  It is also a good read if you are interested in that subject.  That Wild Country by Mark Kenyon

I may have previously mentioned a really good book about the  near extinction of the buffalo and the fight to save it (and to incidentally create Yellowstone National Park).  The Last Stand by Michael Punke
