New Gazebo Plus Ace Fisherman

Happy Labor Day.  We had a visit from two grandsons this weekend while their parents attended a wedding.  We had one day of good weather and then a day of rain. But we had fun either way.

These boys like to go fishing.
They both caught bluegills and bass.
And we had a few Ranger rides (with hamming for the cameras).

Evening fishing, morning fishing, anytime was good for fishing.

There is a hazard to a Sunday afternoon drive past Millers.  Joan spied something that she had to have.  Here's Van out preparing the pad for delivery.
It's a 12x20 gazebo.  It came with a porch swing, a double glider, and a small picnic table.
It was positioned so that we can watch the sunsets.
Meanwhile, the boys helped with some chores like burning cardboard and tree scraps.
They were on fire-watch with the water hose.
We timed it for the rain to help with the suppression.
Elliott made the whole 2 mile camera tour on foot and in the rain.
Tommy only made it about halfway before heading to the barn.
Elliott by the sign for his trail.

And, a little rain wasn't enough to stop us from fishing.
Not even from sitting out in the rain to fish.
We also did a little harvesting in the pumpkin patch.  It's not going to be a very good year.  The mare's tail and other weeds won the race.
The boys enjoy the puppies.

Joan last week mowing the trails.
The no till plots have stuff up.  Not sure how well they will fill in.  The brassica in the soybean field is clearly the best at this point.  The photo below is the field that was in buckwheat.
Joan and I last week.
Some of the trailcam activity.
Always wonder what spooked them.

The bobcat made an appearance.

And the fox.

The coyotes.
And a couple bucks.
