Neighbor BBD, Asian Beetle Invasion

Dusty took this fine buck on his Dad’s property recently. He’s a neighbor.

We saw him on our cameras in September. He’s got a forked G-2.
He had a little trouble finding him even after a good shot. No blood found. Eventually he called out a drone service with infrared detection. Turns out he didn’t go far at all. The drone service he used was:
Ohio Ridge Outdoors

I’m at the farm for the first time in a couple of weeks.  We are being swarmed by Asian beetles.  This happens every year around the first freeze.  They look like lady bugs but they aren’t - and they stink.

There is a layer of them everywhere. It’s hard to tell if they’re still alive. Some of them are.
Including inside the barn.
The rollup door had thousands of them on it - they seem to like white.
And they are still swarming around windows and doors.
I think they’re looking to hibernate in a warm spot (inside the walls).

I plan to do some hunting, check the cameras, and get some chores done.  Should have more updates soon.
