I've been gone for 3 weeks. Van dumped out the rain gauge twice. This is what I found when I arrived. May was dry and June is definitely making up for it.
The pumpkin patch is a fiasco - I can barely find the pumpkins in the weeds.
I only had 4 hours Saturday evening and 4 hours Sunday morning to work on it. And I may not be back for two more weeks.
The fields are too wet for any machinery.
I tried tromping along the rows to at least identify the plantings.
And this is what I got - muck up to the ankle. It may be a lost cause. I tried to at least kill off the large areas between rows with Roundup. If I can't get it under control, I may have to kill it all off rather than let these weeds go to seed.
I tried hand weeding one short row.
This is the orchard field that I left fallow for fall planting. It needs Roundup but the field was too wet to spray. I'll have to bushhog it before they go to seed.
I went ahead and sprayed the one Roundup Ready soybean field that I had. The atv was sinking in up to the rims.
This is a major thistle infestation in one of the clover fields.
The sunflowers don't look too bad.
The main field looks decent. There's lots of sorghum and sunflowers up. I'm not seeing as many peas and beans. I can see a lot of weeds too though.
Hard to tell but some of the sunflowers have already been chomped off.

5/31 was the last visit.
6/27 next stop. Real farmers don't take a month off in prime growing season. I'm finding out why.
