Dave and I hunted on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The evening hunt was active - I had 5 does and 2 bucks walk by me at the driveway stand on their way up to the main field. Both bucks were marginal shooter 8 points. The second one was definitely outside the ears. I saw another much larger buck up in the main field later with a few additional does. As light was going, Dave took a 140 yard shot at the big buck from the hi-rise stand. We could find no blood but we did find his exit trail. Looks like a clean miss. We later checked Dave's gun out at 150 yards and it was shooting about 12" low.
The snow is fun because you can see the deer tracks and know where they've been.
The were looking under the snow here for acorns.
All of the field edges looked like highways.
There was still quite a bit of clover left by the hi-rise.
The brassica still has a few meals left but it's been nibbled down quite a bit.
This doe bedding spot was right below the ladder stand.
And this doe showed up on camera stretching as it got out of that same bed.
This rub is right by the ridge stand.
This bed had a commanding view over the whole valley below the atv trail from the pond.
