We Tried Hard, But...

Dave got the only buck in our camp for gun week this year.  We had perfect weather.  Good temps, light winds, etc. - no good excuses.
During most sits, we saw does or young bucks.  We just couldn't get the mature ones out in daylight.
Evidence of the big boys - that's Creigh's boot - it's not small.
We did a few chores.  Here I am putting sand down on the slippery green slime on the stairs to a stand.
Eric got Tommy out to "hunt".  This mostly involved snacks in the stand at about lunchtime.
Creigh's favorite possum.
A young buck checking out the doe pee wick.
For some reason, one night, the does wanted to be right underneath me.  I took a couple videos out of boredom.

And we got a beautiful sunset.  Earlier, we had a harrier hawk working this field. He was fun to watch.
Back toward the barn where Joan and Tommy were at work.
I did some slow walking around.  Can't really call it still hunting.  And I saw (pushed) several deer.
I always find interesting things on these walks.
Tommy insisted that he wanted to go fishing.  So we  launched the family yacht and took a worm out for awhile.  We couldn't convince him that the fish were asleep because of the cold.
In the cabin, some puzzles were built.
And Thomas kept making new creations with this marbleworks set. Here's a video of one of his creations in action.  Tommy's Marble Creation
Eric brought a new telescope and the sky cooperated.

So we had a pretty good week even though three of us didn't close the deal.  Dave gets the medals for first and largest this year.
