Signs of Spring, Mouse Wars

I was in Germany last week and was delayed on my return due to the weather system ripping thru the Midwest.  75 mph winds at our destination in Lexington KY.  Power out at the airport.  I wasn't sure what to expect on arrival at the farm.

It was actually quite pleasant.
Some daffodils were blooming and the sun was out.
But in spite of electronic deterrents and poison, we continue to do battle with the mice.  These two from the cabin.
This one fell into a muck bucket in the barn.
I took daisy out for 1/2 of the camera tour walk on Saturday.
And Violet and I finished it on Sunday morning.
Notice the time and date on the above photo and then check the below one.
Apparently, Violet and I might have bumped into this bobcat the day before.
That might have been exciting.  We found this furball.  Not sure if someone is shedding a winter coat or if this is a remnant of a bobcat meal.
I did find one shed antler - it is the season for that.
Nothing too special but it is always fun to find them.
There was some evidence of high winds but it really wasn't as bad as I had expected.
$500 worth of clover seed used to top-dress or frost seed the existing plots. The weather looks right for this over the next week.  Freezing overnight with sunny and warmer during the day.  No deluge of rain that might wash the seed away.
Visitors on farm cam.
Suppliers and utilities.
The turkeys have been largely absent for the last couple months.
Now they're kicking into "taunt mode" before the opening of turkey season.

Look at this flock of them.
Checking you out.

The usual doe activity.

The generally look pretty good for this time of year.

Those ears.

Many bucks still in antler in February.

Some dropping though.

And the usual predator lineup.
