We've gone from highs in the 20's to 55 degree pouring rain and now we're headed back to the 20's again. On Saturday evening I hunted the driveway stand in the warn rain. I passed on two nice does at 30 yards at last light. Sunday morning, following 2" of rain and a cold front, it was treacherous getting into a stand. I first went to the pond and then decided it wasn't wise to climb those long steep stairs covered in ice. So I moved over to the main field - not much better but a landing to break my fall.
The fields are completely iced over so I took a walk in the woods trying to make something move. No luck. I keep finding this scat on the pond stand landing near the bat house. Could a bird be leaving this or do you think a coon is coming up here? 20' up.
Camera tour before the rain and freeze.
I still have the turkey blind out looking down this field edge.
This 10 point has been around all season. You can get a pretty good look at his width in this shot.
A few small guys showing on camera in daylight.
Another mutant of sorts?
Blurry but 2 bucks?
Itchy.
Three little guys.
Does.
Single spike.
Coyote carcass untouched by his friends or others. Has been pretty well frozen.
