Mid-Week Report

Conditions were difficult so far this week so let's focus on the positives first.  Here's Eric picking up his mount of last year's buck.
The weather started out really windy as a cold front moved thru.  The only deer I saw in the first 3 days were 5 does on the first evening.
Eventually the front came thru and we had some wind and snow.
Finally the wind died down and it got pretty cold - about 21 degrees in the morning.
We had multiple hunters at multiple locations and nothing was moving anywhere.
 It was pretty frustrating.
I did see a little sign like this fresh scrape.
Our junior hunter headed to stand (the playhouse) in the mid-days.
He did a lot of glassing.
But they never saw anything.
So we bundled up and went out to check the cameras to see if anything was really moving.
 The hunters.
The photo count was low on all cameras.
Yeah, that's frustration.

Anyway, most of the photos were coyotes - they didn't mind moving in the wind and snow.

 The foxes were moving too.

And there was an occasional night time buck.

 No bucks moving in daylight.

It's a big difference versus last week.
Getting much warmer for the weekend - not sure if that will be better.  But we ate well...
