First Fawn, Pumpkin and Plot Planting

First fawn sighting of the year - not the best photo but proof that it is happening.
Ed did make it out to spread fertilizer this week.
He got the existing clover plots and the new plots ready for planting (or recently planted).
This is a soybean plot that I planted last weekend.
I did put some sunflowers in this week.
Work continues on the pumpkin plot - new tape up.
It looks like a couple of the beetle decimated plants will survive.  I gave them a dusting of Sevin.
There are probably 6 or so survivors out of the 25 seeds that I started early this year.
Another soybean plot.
And I think that some are up already.
I found this on arrival this week
It was a cowbird - I assume that it killed itself on a window.  If it was a hawk or predator, you would think it would be consumed.
The salamander pond is getting low and skuzzy.  There's still lots of life in there - it's just hard to see it.
Meanwhile, the salamanders are happy in the frog pond.

Daisies are coming out everywhere.
And some flowers in the woods.
I didn't look them up and should recognize them.
There are a few apples on the trees but it is going to be a lean year.  I suspect the freeze happened right during the bloom.
Pond stand clover.
Sunsets are getting late.
Bucks developing.

Lots of coyotes

A few turkeys around.
Perfect weather this weekend.  Highs around 70F and sunny.  Joan likes it warmer (like last week).
